I’ve spent the better part of the last 4 years away from the product development side the more or SaaS app grew. The software kept growing (in terms of systems inside it) and it's literally become a monster. It’s more challenging to release big updates now with the users being in different schedules and a good number of users aren’t really as versed with updating their apps. Though we can push over 30-80 updates a day to the live production server, it’s not as possible for bigger updates.
With this Corona virus thing happening now, we’re building new feature sets for a complementary app (a separate app) and I missed this feeling. Being able to develop things fast and try it out almost immediately with users, it’s the best feeling.
That’s what we eventually want to happen with our main app as well. We’re building towards that slowly, but surely. That’s why this 1 year in the making version that we’ll be releasing soon is what I consider an investment and not really a feature update that will bring in more users. I really hope it pays off though. :)
How about your SaaS app? Is it also a “monster” now? Miss pushing out large changes without worrying about things breaking? I’d love to hear your story.
Drop me a DM and say Hi. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
